Set beside the Goose burn, and surrounded by mature trees, the Power
House provides elegant and spacious accommodation for four people.
The generating room is now a large dining and sitting room. The water
which used to power the turbines still runs beneath the house, we have
added a viewing window in the floor. The water flows out directly under
the restored Gothic window, the wide window sill and opening windows
make a lovely place to sit above the stream. We have continued the
horseshoe theme with three very shallow steps below the window, before
the stream flows on down the valley.
The high, vaulted ceiling gives an extra sense of spaciousness to an
already large room which provides a lounge area around the feature
fireplace, and a dining table which extends to seat eight people
comfortably. If you have friends or family living in the area, why not
invite them to share a meal in your wonderful holiday home?
The workshop has been turned into a fully fitted, and well equipped
kitchen with electric oven and hobs, microwave, dishwasher,
washer-drier, fridge freezer and CD radio, as well as ample cooking
equipment and place settings for eight. The window at the end of the
kitchen looks across the Goose burn to the bluebell wood.
The Power House has two bedrooms, the Master bedroom has a king sized
double bed, with an en-suite bath room with low level WC, wash basin
and bath. Access is from the lounge.
We also provide a twin bedded room which is accessed from the main hall.
A family bathroom with low level WC, hand basin and shower cubicle is in
the room next to the twin bedroom.
