In a fairy tale setting, on the hillside above the lake,
the Boat House provides charming holiday accommodation for
four people.
The old boat storage area is now a comfortable double bedroom, with king
sized double bed. It has a wide window sill running the full length of
the room and looks over the veranda to the Goose burn, with the lake over
to the left hand side. The bedroom has an en-suite shower room, with
shower cubicle, hand basin and WC.
The new wing downstairs is an open plan dining and kitchen room.
Although the Boat House sleeps four people, the dining table seats six
people comfortably, and we provide plenty or cutlery, crockery and glass
ware. The kitchen is also well supplied with cooking equipment.
We provide fridge, freezer, microwave oven, traditional oven and hobs,
kettle, toaster, radio, dishwasher, washing machine/tumble drier and pay phone.
A steep spiral staircase gives access to the upper floor. The lounge has
its original fireplace and hearth tiles, which are now just over 100 years old.
From the lounge, a door gives access onto the high level balcony which
runs along the front and down the side of the lounge area. Full width
windows in both these walls give good natural daylight to the room.
We have installed satellite TV with DVD player in the lounge.
A second door from the lounge gives access to the master bedroom, with
king sized double bed. The en-suite bathroom has a bath,
separate shower cubicle, hand basin and WC. The bedroom has a door
leading onto the balcony, and a casement window with deep sill looking
down the lake to the Douglas pines beyond the dam wall.
